This 33-year-old Ford Sierra Cosworth is set to fetch a cool £100k at auction because it’s claimed to be ‘the best one in the UK’ of only 500 ever made.
We only have to take a look into our archives and current competitions to see that Fords are becoming increasingly popular.
Earlier this year we ran a Ford Mustang competition where over four thousand tickets flew off the shelf and one lucky winner was handed the keys after spending just £7.50 on his ticket.
We also ran a draw to win a 1991 Ford Sierra Sapphire which only had just over 4,500 miles on the clock. Another incredibly popular competition prize.
Our latest competition Ford is our awesome 1979 Ford Escort RS2000. A similar low-mileage MKII Escort RS2000, also finished in Diamond White, sold at Silverstone Auctions in 2017 for a whopping £97,000!
So could this mean the estimation on this Ford Sierra Cosworth could well be accurate? We’ll have to wait and see..

Chromework Completed on several Classic Car Restorations

These chrome items have been completely transformed and are shining bright once more. The first step in the process of re-chroming is the stripping process. Grease, paint and rust that has accumulated on the car bumper over the years is removed.
Items are then stripped in a solution known as ‘Labere’. This solution is a perfect chemical balance to ensure the old chrome plating is removed without damaging the metal underneath.
The next step in the process is polishing to a smooth finish.
The metal has then gone through a triple plating process. First copper, applied for weather protection. Then Nickel is applied. Once the nickel layer has been applied it is time for the chrome.
The chrome plating process is a method of applying a thin layer of chromium onto a substrate (metal or alloy) through an electroplating procedure.
In simple terms, electroplating is achieved by passing an electric current between two electrodes which are immersed in an electrolyte bath comprising of chromic acid. One of the electrodes will be the substrate which is to be plated. During the flow of electricity between the two electrodes, chromium atoms are deposited in a layer on the electrode to be plated.

The team have done an incredible job re-trimming this Ford Capri wheel. The wheel firstly went down to the paint shop to be sanded down and repainted black. Once fully painted it headed through into the trim shop for Kath to pick up work on the leather. She stripped off the leather and applied the brand new leather before stitching the seams together. The exact sticking pattern was matched to keep this wheel looking original.

Ferrari Dino in Suffolk

Friend of Bridge Classic Cars, Phil martin has sent us these wonderful pictures of his Ferrari Dino in Long Melford, Suffolk. These stunning vehicles were produced by Ferrari between 1967 – 1976. Named after Enzo Ferrari’s late son, these iconic classics have aged beautifully.
