Fixing An Air Con Issue

Classic car technician Steve has been resolving an issue with the air conditioning in our 1973 Jaguar E-Type Roadster Series 3.

After removing the dash, Steve was able to gain access to the a/c wiring and control switches. The fault was traced back to the a/c control variable resistor switch so this was taken apart, the contacts cleaned, and put back together.

Steve tested the air conditioning afterwards and everything was working as it should.

A New Speedo

Classic car technician Jonn has been giving our 1986 Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabriolet a final check over before it leaves us ready to be delivered to its new owner, who was lucky enough to win it through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.

Jonn installed a new GPS speedo in the car before testing it. The test was a successful one and the speedo worked beautifully.

Our Golf GTI also spent a small amount of time in the paint shop with Mauro as he freshened up a couple of areas of paint too.

Electric Window Repair

After noticing that the electric windows weren’t working correctly on our 1986 Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabriolet, classic car technician Jonn has been working on repairing the issue so everything is working as it should be when it is eventually won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.

Jonn stripped the doors and removed the nearside electric window motor and regulator. While the doors were stripped, Jonn made weather shields for both sides of the car. Once the motor and regulator had been checked, the doors were reassembled.

The next job was to drill out the door button lever so the connecting rod fit before the door panel was refitted and the door button was fitted.

Jonn went on to sort the electric window wiring. He cut and soldered the old wiring ready for new switches. Before the new switch panel went into the car, it was painted to make it look as good as possible before it was fitted.

Austin Healey Progress

Quite a bit of work has been completed on our 1967 Austin Healey 3000 over the last week. While classic car technician Jonn was working on our classic Healey, he fitted a new connector block which is used to join the wires from the regulator to the Dynater.

The old regulator needed to be bypassed, and the new connector was used for this. Once this was fitted, the car was run and the charge was checked which Jonn was satisfied with.

New Lights

Our 1980 MGB GT, which will soon be available to win through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions, has been under the care of classic car technician Jonn.

Jonn has fitted new rear fog lights to our classic MGB.

After fitting both the offside and the nearside lights, he tested them to make sure they were working correctly. Once he was happy that they were, our 1980 MGB GT moved one step closer to being won in the near future.

Aston Electrics

Workshop Manager John has been working on the electrics of our 1955 Aston Martin DB2/4.

He has been checking all of the wiring and switches to make sure everything is working as it should. As it stands, only the wipers are working but John will no doubt get everything up and running very soon.

Once John has completed his work, all the switches will be in the same position when on/off and the issue of no power going to the dash will be resolved too.
