They originally came out of a Jaguar E-Type race car during an upgrade and we will look to strip them and re-cover in our colours ready to be fitted in our car.

We briefly mentioned before the successes with Ady, Carl and Andrew in their chosen fields.
Now, a special mention to 14 year old Lewis Offord as he continues to fly through the rankings in the RC BWS championships. Lewis, now Buckinghamshire Champion is carving out a superb amateur career for himself; winning the last chance Pre70 World, he got 5th in the final. He came second in the Devon championship, two years running coming 2nd overall in the Martlesham championship. He won the Festival Of Wheels last year and came 2nd overall this year at the Chelmsford Carpet Oval Racing Club. Lewis was announced Top Junior in last year’s Wisbech championship.
A huge congratulations to Lewis and long may it continue…

1955 Austin Healey restoration nearing completion

We are nearing completion on the restoration of our 1955 Austin Healey. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances the gearbox has once again been removed to be fully rebuilt. The gearbox was reported rebuilt sometime ago but the seals have possibly perished causing 3 or 4 leaks to appear, mainly around the overdrive.

BMW 325 M Sport: Re-commission begins

The re-commission of our 1989 BMW 325 M Sport has now begun. The car has been washed down so we can fully assess the body and we have the car up in the air to assess the underside. Unfortunately we immediately discover that someone has lifted the car on the fuel tank which has bent the tank out of shape. The tank will now need to be replaced as part of the project.
The brakes will most certainly need to be stripped and new parts required to replace the perished components. The tyres are old and worn so will require replacing also.
The paintwork all round is generally very good but we know of a couple of small areas of surface rust that will require attention.

New gasket fitted

We have now fitted a brand new rubber gasket to replace the faulty one on the car. The customer has specified for the fitment to be rubber but we also have a special order cork gasket heading over from Australia as we speak. The De Tomaso Pantera forums have mixed reviews on both the rubber and cork so with the rubber gasket now fitted and a cork one arriving very soon we will have both options to hand.
The car is back together and ready to go home…

Triumph TR6 Engine Rebuild

The rebuild of our 1973 Triumph TR6 engine is coming along nicely. The engine components have been stripped, cleaned and painted as new.
The engine is now fitted with new pistons, new bearings, new rocker shaft, new rocker fingers, the cylinder head has been unleaded, new valve guides, new oil and water pump, new timing chain kit and all pieced together with brand new bolts.
The Greatest Showman – Bertram Mills

Mr Bertram Mills, one of the greatest showman of modern times, was brought up in a family that was for generations attached to the coach building trade. Recognised as one of the finest judges of horses in the world, his name is well-known in the racing world. He achieved fame as the promoter of great Olympia Circus and in 1934 he offered £10,000 for the capture of the Loch Ness Monster.
Our 1957 Mercedes 190SL was registered from new by Dorothy Mills of Knightsbridge, London.

Templating the Race Car windows

Tamas is busy templating the side windows of our 1967 Jaguar E_Type race car. Being a race car recreation the windows will be manufactured in perspex rather than the traditional glass to give the look and feel of a race car. The front side windows will also have a large slide opening for ventilation with the rest of the screens being fixed into position with no opening mechanism. The template will be slightly larger that the original glass windows as it is our intention not to fit the bright-work trims that you would ordinarily find around the edge.

1989 BMW 325 Sport E30 – recommission

Having been off the road for a couple of years, we aim to get our 1989 BMW 325 Sport E30 through the workshops to enable her to get out on the open roads once again.
The car runs, but not very well so we will look to address this issue. On a general once over of the car the bodywork looks to be in fantastic condition for the age, with only two small bubbles to attend to.
Brakes, tyres, electrics, a service, MOT will all be checked during the recommission process but all being well, we hope to have her up and running in no time.

With the owner of our stunning restoration out of the country for many months a year our 1971 Jaguar E-Type Roadster is now in storage for the winter within our showroom facilities.
We have worked alongside the guys at Carcoon for many years and their products are amazing and perfect for classic car storage. We have installed the Carcoon Evo in many single garages over the years.

We have also fitted up the tank and new spoked wheels with tyres.
One for the future: Ford Mustang S.Code 390 GT – 1968

Damaged during an attempted theft, our 1968 Ford Mustang S.Code 390 GT has been lightly damaged over the majority of the panels. They were unsuccessful in leaving with the car however tools and other items from within the storage facility were taken.
Unfortunately the Mustang was used as a ‘table’ during this event and due to the age of the paint it will be almost impossible to colour match the entire car to the one or two panels that remain intact.
This project will be for a full respray but we await instruction from the insurance company.
1963 Jaguar SS100 running issues

Our 1963 Jaguar SS100 is back in the workshops today for us to investigate a slight issue with the car when idle. The car is running with slightly high revs and continues to run on after the ignition is switched off.
Ady will soon be on the case to diagnose and rectify the issue.

Coming soon, we have our 1991 Volkswagen Transporter in need of some rectifications to the body and a full re-paint. As with a lot of the VW campers rust has started to eat into the usual places so all of this will need to be removed and new metalwork will need to be shaped prior to paint preparation.
We are also considering a new bespoke interior but this will be stage 2 of project.
Stripping our 1960 MG A

Paul and Tamas have been busy stripping the MG A of all of it’s removable components. In order to get the chassis blasted there needs to be mothing left on the car. Everything has been removed, labelled, photographed and stored away for assessment. We will assess each and every components to decide on where it is repairable, recoverable or whether we need to be looking to source it new.

Introducing the world’s first Volcano Orange and Magnetic Grey Jaguar E-Type.
This one-off prototype race car has been built and designed in-house by us here at Bridge Classic Cars.
The colour is based on the McLaren Volcano Orange and is built up of a three-stage finish with a unique Diamondburst Tixo Clearcoat lacquer. The internal area and engine bay is finished in Ford’s Magnetic Grey.

Work began on our 1967 Jaguar E-Type race car in January 2017 and now we can finally reveal the first look of our incredible colour combination; Volcano Orange and Magnetic Grey, most likely to be the only Jaguar E-Type in existence using this colour combination. A three colour combination makes up the Volcano Orange, we were first inspired by the colour on a McLaren parked up in a car park at Sandown Racecourse.
