1973 Reliant Scimitar, GTE 5A – 1973 – (The one to have, as prices are steadily on the increase)
MOT’d until December 2017.
It has recently had a full service including oil, plugs, all filters and benefits from new plug leads.
It is in very good condition having benefited from a full body off restoration a number of years back which included a new full wiring loom, all brake pipes and new brakes.
The black interior is in very good condition.
At that time it had a full chassis repaint and although it also had a full respray, if we were to keep it we would paint it again.
Don’t get us wrong as the paint isn’t bad but the rest of the car is better and with a full repaint it would become one of the best around today.
It has the 3ltr Essex Engine with a 4 speed box and it runs like a dream and sounds wonderful through its stainless steel exhaust system.
The petrol tank is also stainless so avoiding any rust issues in the future.
This model has no power steering which is not a problem as the steering is quite light when on the move and no overdrive
If our workshops were not full this car would not be for sale.
It is perfectly presentable “as is” but could easily be one of the best if was sympathetically improved.
